FARO Technologies, Inc. (Lake Mary, FL) enhanced its metrology software, CAM2 Q, with the addition of the ability to collect scan data to its list of qualities.
Earlier in the year, CAM2 Q 1.0 earned the distinction of a Reader’s Choice Award as the Best Quality/Inspection Software. CAM Q 1.0 allows the ScanArm to recognize geometric features such as holes and planes, for non-contact inspection, automatically.
CAM2 Q 1.1 boasts a long lists of attributes, among them the ability to allow users to install and measure with FARO hardware right out of the box; measure with multiple FaroArms and FARO Laser Trackers simultaneously — even on the same location; customize the windows and toolbar layouts based on the priorities of the project and save multiple users’ choices so they can complete the job in the fewest number of mouse clicks possible; certify that their geometry calculations are accurate to one half micron (500 times thinner than the width of a human hair), and much more.
With CAM2 Q 1.1, users don’t have to worry about user variability during inspection, and FaroArm and FARO Tracker users get even faster results than with the previous version.
The English-language version is now available September 15, 2008; 10 language translations are expected later this year.
