The Cadac Group (Quincy, MA) released Organice 2007 R4, with new features in Organice Explorer and Organice Transmit. The Cadac Group is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner developing Organice (Quincy, MA), a SharePoint-based engineering document management solution.
Organice Explorer, said to be the smart Windows desktop client that enhances working with Microsoft SharePoint, provides all the fundamental engineering document management functionality that users need in their engineering projects. It integrates SharePoint with MS Office, MS Outlook for e-mail, and with various leading CAD applications. In release 2007 R4, Organice Explorer now supports Bricscad V9 and Autodesk Revit 2009.
Organice Explorer includes a Batch Processor that can be used to analyze the structure of AutoCAD files for the presence of reference files (XREFs). In release 2007 R4, the Batch Processor is now also capable of executing AutoCAD scripts on selected AutoCAD files to quickly convert a DWG to DWF, or to purge files.
With Organice Transmit document controllers can distribute multiple documents that are stored and managed in SharePoint to multiple recipients at once. A distribution matrix specifies exactly which recipient needs to receive which documents. In release 2007 R4, users can now create distribution matrices even easier by querying the right documents and recipients. Especially in case of large distribution matrices, this saves time in creating a matrix.
Organice Transmit can distribute documents through e-mail or printed on paper. In release 2007 R4, it is now possible to execute an external print application after the transmittal has been created for a recipient that wants to receive printed documents.
