SigmaPlot 10, the latest version of the scientific graphing and data analysis software package from Systat Software, Inc.(Point Richmond, CA), is now available. SigmaPlot 10 providesresearchers new features to analyze data and create publication-qualitygraphs of results for presentation or publication.
According to a press release, SigmaPlot 10 is specifically designed tomeet the needs of professional researchers. The latest version containsmany workflow efficiency improvements, new enhancements to SigmaPlot’scurve fitting engine, and a wider range of graphing options that allowusers to customize their graphs for effective communication.
Many new features include a startup screen that allows both new andpower users to jump into their workflow with easy access to recentlyused documents, the ability to use existing documents as templates fornew work, and fast import of Excel and Access documents; a SubmissionAssistant, which stores a list of publication specifications for 22leading journals to reduce time spent researching publication graphrequirements; direct SAS and Minitab data file import to preventduplicate copies of data; access to real-time feedback of graphcoordinates by running a cursor over the graph; and the ability forlaboratories to easily track and log changes to notebooks from multipleusers, simplifying security and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
New graphing enhancements for customizing the plot area include easiermanipulation of graph elements, even when objects are buried beneathother items; new axis scales for 2D and 3D graphs including Weibullaxis scale, Reciprocal axis scales, and Arrhenius scales; new 3D meshplots with contour projections to enhance the visualization of 3D datacoordinate values; an increased number of line types and fill patternsto visually differentiate groups within the data and achieve thedesired graph; and automatic interpolation and graphing of irregularlyspaced 3D data for quick generation of smooth and accurate mesh andcontour plots.
Users can access 30 of the most frequently used statistical proceduresfor analyzing scientific research directly from the SigmaPlotstatistics menu by integrating SigmaPlot 10 with SigmaStat 3.5R. TheSigmaStat Advisor Wizard guides users through their data analysis. Prices:$699 (SigmaPlot 10 single user); $499 (academic RandD); $599(SigmaStat 3.5 single user); $499 (academic RandD).
