Savoy Computing Services Ltd. has released a new version of AutoTrack. Version 8.9 includes new features and enhancements for transport engineering and planning.
Among the new features is a camera control that lets users adjust the view of vehicles in real-time while animating them.
Also in v8.9 is a path validation tool for use by designers and approvers. The Audit command runs a series of checks on paths and generates exceptions when it encounters potential problems. The tool is aimed primarily at approving authorities who need to quickly assess paths, but can also benefit engineers at the design stage in checking their own work.
AutoTrack 8.9 natively supports both 32- and 64-bit versions of AutoCAD 2011. Savoy has also released a special version for Civil 3D that takes advantage of the enhanced BIM data model in that product. The Civil 3D version includes the ability to project vehicle paths onto surfaces, animate vehicles traveling over surfaces, and generate vertical clearance paths on profile views directly. These paths all update automatically when the surfaces change.
