Quickparts, a 3D Systems company based in Atlanta, GA, released additional secondary finishing options service through QuickCutCNC.The new rapid CNC service offers anodizing and electroless nickel plating as an option for parts CNC machined from either Aluminum 6061 or 7075.           

These finishes enhance the durability and strength of aluminum by adding an exterior coating to the final parts.   What electroless nickel plating adds to the strength of aluminum is corrosion protection, wear resistance, solderability, and increased hardness.   Properties provided by anodizing include increased hardness and corrosion/abrasion resistance, while providing electrical insulation and the ability to dye the anodized parts a variety of colors.   Colors currently offered for anodizing by QuickCutCNC are:   Red, Gold, Green, Blue, Black, and Clear (Light Silver).
