The Open Design Alliance (ODA) has announced an updated version of its Open Design Specification for .dwg files available for public download. This release of the document includes specifications for the file format on which the latest release of Teigha for .dwg files, version 3.3, is based.
The Open Design Specification for .dwg files is a document that details headers, objects, tables, raster images, and other data that comprise a .dwg file. The document is available not only to ODA members but to the general public as well.
“Teigha is used by members of the Open Design Alliance for technical graphics applications which includes interoperability with standard CAD files such as .dwg and .dgn files,” says Arnold van der Weide, president of the ODA. “The ODA is determined to maintain and publish an up-to-date version of the Open Design Specification for .dwg files as part of its ongoing commitment to open standards throughout the CAD industry.”
