Company launches KickStarter campaign for new model.

Tjiko Labs launched a KickStarter campaign to fund a its Snap 3D Printer, which can be assembled without fasteners.

According to the company, the assembly process does not require any technical background or expertise. The printer's frame is strong and doesn't require the use of fasteners. The modular design allows for end user customization. The extruder platform, for example, can be removed and replaced with a different extruder for liquid printing or dispensing (printing chocolate, sugar or food). The print bed is also modular for this purpose.

All electronics and wiring snap together. The printer has an 8-in. by 8-in. by 8-in. build volume, and a 100 micron layer resolution. It has an LCD panel with control interface, and microSD input.
