Adept Scientific plc (Letchworth,  Hertsfordshire, UK) launched Alion Science and Technology‘s (McLean, VA) Micro Saint Sharp (MSS) version 3.0,  which allows users to visually model and improve workflow processes with extreme detail and accuracy, says the company. This upgrade to the interactive workflow simulation and optimization software includes new features that help users improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Using an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) and flowchart approach to modeling,  MSS 3.0 offers enhanced power and flexibility to help answer “what if?” questions and data analysis. You can automatically represent your resource- and capacity-limited processes; view, edit, and print data using a Process Diagram, Tree View, or the new Grid View; debug models during execution with the new Immediates Window; and export runtime-only simulations.

Users can view their models as network diagrams or 2D or 3D animations. Alion’s exclusive Animator 3D software, which enables users to create a virtual environment with 3D moving images, is included with the Gold version of MSS 3.0.

Also included in the Gold version is OptQuest, a tool that automatically optimizes processes. Plus, MSS 3.0 comes with a large clip art library and numerous 3D objects, allowing users to quickly build realistic, detailed scenes and to easily create reusable models of their own. With MSS 3.0, Microsoft Visio drawings can be imported and exported.
