INUS Technology, Inc. (Seoul, South Korea) will release Rapidform XOV/Verifier 2 (XOV2), a CAD-friendly inspection software in the middle of February 2009.
Rapidform XOV2 differs from its predecessor, Rapidform XOV1 in that it is CAD friendly inspection software that employs dense point cloud data. The user interface, workflows and ease of use are the same as those for CAD, and XOV2 works like a history-based CAD system. This feature allows you to modify any part of an inspection job and the software will update results instantly. It’s possible to correct errors or redo measurements without having to inspect the whole part again. XOV2 also opens native files from CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER and Siemens NX, and will import dimensions and tolerances as defined on the CAD parts. The product also reads native geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) annotation (Product Manufacturing Information, PMI) from all these CAD applications. Rapidform XOV2 also offers CAD Deviation analysis and GD&T of 3D scanned parts and it is suitable for metrology level inspection applications.
