InnovMetric Software has launched PolyWorks v12.0,  its new relational inspection solution. The PolyWorks new relational inspection architecture analyzes every step in a part measurement workflow with the purpose of constructing a logical representation of the operator’s intent using objects, parameters, and relationships between objects. Rebuilt on top of this new relational foundation,  PolyWorks V12 also offers new technical capabilities for 3D metrology

New features include real-time updates for part inspection projects and reports, and unlimited project replay that allows a part inspection project and report to be created for a first piece, then automatically replayed with subsequent pieces. Preparing an inspection project for a multi-piece inspection task does not require a teaching mode to be invoked; you can create a part inspection project or modify an existing one without regard to the next piece.

The inspection results of multiple pieces can be stored under the umbrella of a single project, saving disk space and accelerating project opening and saving operations. In addition, the SPC database holding multi-piece statistics is globally shared and can be accessed at any time. PolyWorks V12 projects can handle multiple CAD models,  multiple parts, and multiple part alignments at once. Individual report items can also be linked to specific part alignments and coordinate systems for total reporting flexibility.
