Hexagon Metrology Acquires Technodigit SARL

Hexagon Metrology (London, UK)acquired Technodigit SARL (Lyon,France), developer of 3DReshaper software for the design of 3D point cloud and3D mesh manipulation for reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, product design,and industrial inspection. 3DReshaper brings to Hexagon the capability toorganize and manipulate the millions of data points produced by HexagonMetrology’s ScanShark laser probe, the Leica T-Scan, and other high-speedlaser-scanning systems.
3DReshaperis said to be able to import large point clouds, do mesh editing and shaping,and 3D surface comparison for inspection. These capabilities are useful forcharacterizing freeform surfaces common in the aerospace and automotiveindustries. 3DReshaper also offers interfaces to ROMER portable arm packages aswell as compatibility with Leica Geosystems products.
Under thisnew acquisition, the Technodigit team join the Hexagon software developmentgroup, which employs 100 developers worldwide.
