HBM is expanding its range of piezoelectric force washers into the lower nominal (rated) forces with the 20 kN version of the CFW series.
The new force washer has a diameter of 14.5 mm and a height of 7 mm, allowing it to be integrated in applications where little space is available.
The piezoelectric principle of measurement with which the force washer works has a sensitivity that does not depend on the nominal force and it is therefore recommended for measurements in the partial load ranges where greater resolution is required. The symmetrical design of the sensor represents good linearity characteristics. The inner and outer ring of the sensor can be solidly connected to the surrounding construction.
The new piezoelectric force washer is suitable for applications in rough industrial environments, according to the company. The sensors are operated together with the CMA series charge amplifiers or the CMD digital charge amplifiers.
