Express Pattern Inc. (Vernon Hills,  IL), a provider of rapid prototype solutions for functional prototypes and investment castings and a U.S. rapid prototyping services bureau, acquired the new PolyJet Matrix technology and Connex500 3-D Printing system from Objet Geometries Ltd. (Rehovot, Israel) to quickly turnaround 3D models.

In a single-build process, Express Pattern creates ultra-thin-layered,  high-resolution, 3D printed models of parts and assemblies made of two distinct materials with different physical and mechanical properties. Using the Connex500 System, Express Pattern can fabricate on demand 21 types of Digital Materials to create composite materials possessing the exact properties required for a specific application. The resulting models for mixed parts,  composite materials, and mixed trays are highly accurate in detail and surface finish to the final products produced using complex molds and double injection. The savings in terms of printing, postprocessing time, and materials replacement are dramatic.

Using the new PolyJet Matrix technology and Connex500 3D printing system, Express Pattern can create prototypes such as simulated over-molded parts; movable assemblies;  biomedical and translucent models; and living hinge.

In addition to the new Objet FullCure model materials used in PolyJet Matrix technology,  Express Pattern offers one of the industry’s largest Stereolithography (SLA)  and Thermojet manufacturing capacities and has 12 SLA machines ranging from Vipers to the new Viper Pro.
