Through a distribution agreement with Paradigm Imaging Group, NewWave Technologies will add the Graphtec SK200C large-format scanner and the SP200W scanner/printer combo to its product line. NewWave is a distributor of document imaging, automated data storage, and CD/DVD duplication products.
Joel Port, vice-president of Sales with NewWave Technologies said, “The Graphtec scanners will enable NewWave to offer our customers a full range of scanners now, including the ability to scan and print oversize documents.”
The Graphtec SP200W is aimed at users who want an affordable large-format scanning, printing and copy solution in a compact desktop configuration. The Graphtec SP200W measures 48” wide by 18” high and 24” deep and costs $10,995. The SK200C scanner provides 600 dpi optical resolution and supports black and white, grayscale, and full-color originals. Scan speeds are 3 inches per second for black and white and 0.75 inches per second for color.
The SP200W copy system combines two Graphtec devices, the SK200 36” scanner and the new MasterJet JW220 24” printer. Unlike traditional CCD (charge-coupled device) scanners, the SK200 scanner incorporates CIS (contact image sensor) technology that uses no lenses, lights, or mirrors. It also allows the scanner to be used within a few seconds of power-on, with no warm-up period needed. Scan resolution can be set from 100 to 600dpi true optical resolution and up to 1200dpi interpolated. Scanning speeds reach 5 inches per second in black and white and 1.5 inches per second in color.
The MasterJet JW220 printer is a 24” wide, four-color thermal inkjet printer. It contains two print heads. The JW220 prints a D-size black-and-white copy in about 60 seconds and a D-size color copy in 270 seconds.
