The new BENCHMARK CMM from Coord3 features a ‘half-gantry’ advanced alloy design has its X and Y axis at the same level, providing increased rigidity, the company says.
The CMM is targeted for the inspection of high-volume production parts, or single part inspection in smaller manufacturing operations. The unit fits through a standard door width. It has an accuracy of 2.5 microns, a measuring volume of 500mm x 400mm x 440mm, and comes standard with a Renishaw touch-probe.
It is available in manual or CNC configurations. Manual units can be upgraded to full CNC in the field at a later date, and the unit can also be used as a programmable production gage. In addition, optional wireless thermal compensation allows the BENCHMARK to measure accurately in shop conditions.
It is equipped with TouchDMIS software, as well as TOUCH CMM software with full CAD capability.
The software’s measurement wizard and construction professor minimize user input to the software; access to the DMIS programming language is not required for measurements, programming or editing. Screen graphics display every action before execution, guiding the measuring process and eliminating potential user errors, the company says. Measured data can be presented as a unique Blueprint Report featuring a fully dimensioned drawing of the measured part.
