COADE (Houston, TX) released CADWorx fieldPipe for CloudWorx, a tool that allows you to quickly and easily build an intelligent, specification-driven model using point cloud data from laser scan information. It does this in conjunction with Leica CloudWorx by reading point cloud scans and bringing them into the CADWorx fieldPipe model.

Once the point cloud is opened in COADE’s CADWorx fieldPipe, the program calculates the center and diameter of the pipe run by selecting just one point on the surface of a pipe cylinder. Once all parameters are set, the user can accurately place piping components using the point cloud data in the model.

CADWorx fieldPipe for CloudWorx saves time for the designer and engineer by eliminating the process of building an unintelligent solid model by tracing over laser scans. With CADWorx fieldPipe for CloudWorx, these deliverables, such as clash-free models, isometrics and bills of material, can be extracted directly from the model with no further modeling.

The CADWorx Plant Design Suite for process plant design offers intelligent drawing to database connectivity, advanced levels of design automation and easy-to-use design tools. Because of these distinct advantages, it has been adopted by EPC firms and owner operators in the process, power, water treatment,  pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and semiconductor industries.

CADWorx also offers the industry’s first and only true bidirectional links between CAD and engineering analysis tools, linking CADWorx with COADE’s industry-leading software programs for pipe (CAESAR II) and pressure vessel and exchanger (PV Elite) analysis and design.
