BigLever, MadCap Partner to Deliver Documentation Management and Product Line Engineering Solution

The platform is ideal for organizations who want to establish a single, unified solution for end-to-end document management, the company states.

BigLever Software, a provider of PLE (product line engineering) solutions, has partnered with MadCap Software to integrate MadCap Flare into its Gears software platform. This new combination optimizes document sharing and simplifies document management for organizations to created and deliver complex product lines, a company press release states.

The platform, known as the Flare/Gears Bridge, allows users to establish structure document “supersets” that support the all documents in a product line. These sets are then able to be automatically configured based on specific features made to individual products. It is ideal for companies looking to establish an automated, feature-based production system that uses product feature profiles to assemble and configure engineering assets across the lifecycle.

“In an era of continuous improvement, shrinking product cycles, and multiple product variations, businesses need to ensure that their documentation keeps pace with each new rollout,” said Anthony Olivier, founder and CEO, MadCap Software. “Now organizations have an integrated solution to this challenge with Flare/Gears Bridge, which synchronizes BigLever’s industry-leading Gears PLE Lifecycle Framework with MadCap Flare’s best-in-class technical authoring and publishing software. Using MadCap Flare, BigLever customers can take advantage of topic-based authoring to speed content creation and promote reuse, along with multi-channel publishing to streamline the delivery of content to where customers will use it — whether in print or on their desktops, Web browsers, or mobile devices.”
