App Marketplace Launched for Solid Edge from Siemens PLM Software

Today at the Siemens PLM Connection Americas 2015 in Dallas, Siemens announced the launch of a new online store that it says will help customers easily search for, compare and purchase partner developed apps for Solid Edge software. The new Solid Edge App Marketplace mobile app is intended to provide a one-stop shop for add-on solutions that extend the capabilities of Solid Edge, to help customers further enhance productivity. The Marketplace should also help partners extend sales efforts by bringing apps directly to customers.

“Siemens is committed to creating a network of partners for Solid Edge who represent the leading technologies in their fields, as well as to providing an open, extensible architecture that supports rapid development,” said John Miller, senior vice president, Mainstream Engineering, Siemens PLM Software. “The new Solid Edge App Marketplace will help provide our customers and partners a strong return on their PLM investment through a strategy of helping partners develop and sell, and customers find and start using the products that help enhance productivity and realize innovation.”

The Solid Edge App Marketplace allows customers to find complementary partner apps to help meet their  needs. Customers will be able to research and compare a variety of apps, select the one that best meets their requirements and purchase the app online.
