Round Solutions (London, UK), specializing in machine2machine applications, has developed the means to produce prototype cases within 72 hours. On the basis of 3D data from all standard applications, Round Solutions produces cases for PDAs, POS terminals, mobile phones and tracking systems. The material used is a flexible polyamide. The individual layers are only 0.1 mm thick. According to Round Solutions, the costs for prototypes in mobile-phone formats range between 350 and 400 Euro.
The target group for this new service includes product developers in the field of telecommunications, for whom Round Solutions offers a wide range of components. These include the world’s smallest GPRS and GPS modules as well as highly miniaturized antennas. The company looks forward to combining their modules with Google Earth and Maps services, with access to geospatial data.
