Hexagon Metrology has launched PC-DMIS 2014, a software use for manufacturing data collection, evaluation, management and presentation. The update includes tools and technologies that will help measurement devices perform better, increase effectiveness of inspection planning time and simplify inspection routines, the company states.
There are also a number of productivity enhancements to increase the speed of common programming tasks and improve the overall user experience. One feature is the new 1-click “QuickFeature” creation from CAD models, where users can create Quick Features by simply hovering their mouse over a CAD model to highlight elements.
PC-DMIS also includes the “QuickAlign” capability that allows the selection of multiple features to create a quick alignment, or initial manual and DCC alignments.
Additional capabilities are Copy and Paste Parameters, Mini Routines which provide easier block changes and dimension measurement, respectively.
“PC-DMIS 2014 delivers new and improved capabilities based on real-world user feedback from the PC-DMIS forum and our technical support teams,” said Ken Woodbine, president of Hexagon Metrology software division. “This release is focused on productivity, and sets the stage for future user experience enhancements already in the planning stage and moving forward.”
Hexagon Metrology will showcase the software at the International Manufacturing Technology Show in September.
