ModelMaker D features wide scanning strip.

By DE Editors

ModelMaker D, a digital hand-held laser scanner from DESCAM, features a scan strip of 180mm. The wide scan stripe is suited to scanning large parts such as car doors, fenders, car seats, and bathtubs. DESCAM says that such a wide strip decreases the time needed to complete scans, saving time and money.  The ModelMaker D also offers scan strips of 50- and 100mm. DESCAM’s ModelMaker Z provides scan strip widths of 35-, 70-, and 140mm.

DESCAM’s new ModelMaker D handheld scanner features a wide scan stripe measuring 180mm.

The hand-held scanner provides seven degrees of freedom. Scan data is automatically assigned to a defined coordinate system, and captured surfaces can be rendered in real time to check for missing data. Laser intensity is automatically controlled when scanning black and mirrored surfaces. DESCAM’s product range includes laser scanning systems (hand-held and half-automated), customized measurement systems, tactile measurement arms, and software for data processing. The company also offers services like scanning, surfacing, inspection, installation, and training.
