FLEXcon Company, Inc. has released (Spencer,MA) FLEXcon V-778 permanent pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive, a highly aggressive adhesive ideal for use with low surface energy plastics such as thermoplastic polyolefins (TPOs). V-778 is characterized by its reduction of or elimination of the need to prime or flame treat TPO surfaces before applying adhesive, which subsequently reduces time and money associated with pre-treating TPO surfaces.
In a collaboration with LyondellBasell Advanced Polyolefins, tested V-778 on a wide range of thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) and polyolefin alloy materials. LyondellBasell found the adhesive to exhibit excellent adhesion and durability. The product also works well on powder coated painted surfaces and is available in 1 to 4 mil coating thicknesses. V-778 is custom produced to application specifications.
V-778 is one offering in a line of FLEXcon’s adhesive systems — a line of high performance acrylic adhesive transfer tapes. V-778 is prescribed for gasketing and sealing applications on surfaces that are not easy to adhere to.
