Autodesk introduces Fusion 360 Manage with Upchain, the newest addition to the company’s cloud-native platform for product design. Autodesk says Fusion 360 Manage with Upchain offers a modular set of product data management features to aid collaboration by providing cloud-native PDM and PLM features.

The company says Fusion 360 Manage with Upchain allows users to connect internal and external stakeholders to improve data exchange and streamline product development workflows. Autodesk describes the product as configurable out of the box, with a set of modular extensions that teams may add as they see fit.

Autodesk says any team member can access the system with any device that connects to the internet. This makes it possible to check bills of materials, review and collaborate on designs, participate in change orders, manage suppliers and otherwise securely access product information whenever and wherever it is required.

This addition to Fusion 360 comes as a set of workflows that may be extended when the team is ready. The company says the system is designed with configurability as a basic feature, allowing the engineering team to adapt the system to their needs instead of being forced to change work habits to match the software.

Other features include the ability to manage product portfolios with integrated change management; supplier access to data; dashboards and key performance indicators; a New Product Introduction workspace to manage and automate project phases; quality management; and open APIs to connect to enterprise systems including enterprise resource management and customer relationship management.

Fusion 360 Manage with Upchain integrates with Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor CAD systems, as well as Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks and Siemens NX to provide multi-CAD data management.

Standardized workflows that ship with Fusion 360 Manage with Upchain include support for industry standards including RoHS, REACH, conflict minerals and ISO 9000.

The company says the modularity and cloud-native aspects of Fusion 360 Manage with Upchain allow the system to grow from use by one team to becoming used throughout the enterprise.
