ITI TranscenData (Milford, OH) has unveiled version 5.0 of its advanced 3D model comparison and product data quality tool CADIQ. This latest version is said to feature new functionality and a range of enhancements that make it easier to automatically compare 3D CAD models in multiple formats and to identify and resolve geometric shape and quality differences.

CADIQ works by identifying potential shape and fit problems as well as differences in 3D CAD models that can affect downstream applications, such as analysis, manufacturing and data migration. For validating CAD system migration, data exchange, and legacy CAD data remastering processes, CADIQ‘s CAD model comparison functionality lets you compare the geometry and topology of two, three, or four different CAD models. CADIQ automatically generates Excel statistics in support of Six Sigma quality processes and all functionality is available in a command line interface for integration into PLM environments.

CADIQ 5.0 has a new advanced model quality diagnostics features for casting and molding applications as well as a new system interface for native CADDS 5i models. It also offers automated assembly analysis for CATIA V4, CATIA V5, STEP and Parasolid models as well as semi-automated assembly analysis for Unigraphics NX and I-deas NX models. Additional highlights of CADIQ version 5.0 include distributed, parallel batch analysis of CAD models as well as simplified analysis configuration and launching. Supported has updated for CATIA V4 and V5, NX and I-deas from NX UGS, Pro/Engineer, and SolidWorks. CADIQ 5.0 now supports for Windows XP 64-bit platforms.
