Intent Design, a £1 million boutique firm in the UK, is using Z Corporation’s 3D printers to design retail environments complete with signage, décor, furnishings, window arrangements, and point-of-purchase displays.
Using the ZPrinter 450, Intent Design is able to create environments that define the retailers’ brand. The resulting 3D physical models give customers the opportunity to touch and manipulate objects from all angles, so they know what they’re getting.
Intent also uses 3D printing for internal design review to create physical models of injection-molded parts. According to Z Corp., these parts cost 1/8 what CNC milled prototypes cost.
The ZPrinter 450’s high resolution also makes it possible to create small text, a process that would likely be very expensive via other methods.
