Technology Education Concepts is distributing RapManUSA, a 3D printer that allows educators to teach rapid prototyping and manufacturing to their students for $1,495. Bits From Bytes is the developer of the RapManUSA. It is available now and will be nationally introduced at the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) Convention in Nashville on Nov. 19-21.

The RapManUSA is designed to make the teaching of rapid technologies more affordable and is also available in kit-form, enabling students to build the machine themselves. In addition to students and teachers, the RapManUSA can be used by designers, engineers,  and others working in 3D CAD.

Key RapManUSA features and benefits include:

  • X/Y/Z positioning system that is able to accommodate multiple tools for additional functionality. Runs on open source software for set up and control.
  • Manufactured of acrylic, it can print the majority of its own replacement parts at First-Generational quality-levels.
  • It can print from a variety of materials, such as ABS and HDPE plastics, and operates on a 12-volt power source.
  •
