Calling it the quality industry’s first true “SPC web application,” Zontec Inc. (Cincinnati, OH) has announced the release of Synergy 3000 Statistical Process Control software. The software has been developed using Microsoft’s .NET computing platform, and it can run as a traditional Windows XP or Vista desktop application, or it can be hosted within any popular Web browser.
Synergy 3000 is for businesses whose IT direction demands browser-based interactivity and relational database technology. Its Web capabilities allow monitoring of process conditions and reporting regardless of the user’s physical location, allowing mobile users to observe production status in real time, solve problems, or analyze data by logging onto their company’s server from anywhere.
According to the company, the data access component of .NET gives Zontec a more highly evolved and efficient data-handling model than offered by 1990s ODBC technology.
There is also native SQL database connectivity that is shared by both Windows and Web users in real time. Businesses may choose to license Synergy 3000 for Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle databases.
Synergy 3000 accepts data manually or automatically from gages, measurement equipment, CMMs, PLCs, and other plant information systems. An unlimited number of processes can be monitored simultaneously for a global picture of the organization’s quality.
Classic variable and attribute control charts in Synergy 3000 are supplemented by additional analytical and decision-support tools such as the Six Sigma capability chart, vertical and horizontal histograms, overlay, Pareto, box and whisker, and pre-control run charts. Instant feedback to users is provided via color-coded alarms, pop-up warnings, e-mail, cell phone, and pager alerts.
A data event log tracks changes and annotates original data for archival purposes. A query feature aids in product traceability and the generation of audit trails for ISO, QS, TS, or contract compliance.
