Steinbichler Optotechnik presents the COMET L3D, its new blue light 3D scanning system. The COMET L3D is a solution for 3D digitizing, providing a combination of blue light technology coupled with portability. The main application for the L3D is quality control, but also for 3D digitizing for reverse engineering in plastics and metal industries.
“It was our goal to develop an extremely precise affordable easy to handle entry system that can be used exactly in all the applications where tactile measurement is at its limits, for example measuring fragile plastic parts or parts with lots of different features,” says Hans Weigert, director of Sales and Marketing at Steinbichler Optotechnik GmbH.
Based on COMET-technology, the L3D is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera, and has a fixed triangulation basis, which can be used with pre-adjusted lenses. According to the company, the pre-defined position of lens and camera mean the projection lenses can be changed very quickly and easily, thus the necessary field of measurement can be adapted according to the requirements in less than five minutes.
