Solidscape Inc. has announced it is lowering the price of its R66 plus 3D wax printer to $27,650. Originally developed to enable small businesses to produce their own wax models, the 3D printer is used by retail jewelers developing the custom design portion of their businesses.
“The lower price will help more custom retailers using CAD avoid the risk of sending their exclusive design files outside.” Fabio Esposito, VP Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Solidscape remarks. “Also, by owning their own wax printer, they maintain greater control over the quality of their work by selecting the best print configuration for each job.”
The Solidscape T76 plus and R66 plus printers for producing fully castable wax models use an additive technology called drop-on-demand (DoD) and employ the SCP (Smooth Curvature Printing) technology. Both printers use the fully castable, proprietary plusCast and Indura Fill materials.
