Safe Technology announced the availability of its fe-safe component for Dassault Systemes’ Isight to accelerate the optimization of product designs for durability and reliability.

fe-safe is used to accurately calculate from FEA where and when fatigue cracks will occur, the factors of safety on working stresses (for rapid optimization) and the probability of survival at different service lives. Isight from SIMULIA, the Dassault Systemes  simulation brand, provides designers, engineers and researchers with an open system for integrating design and simulation models “created with various CAD, CAE and other software applications “to automate the execution of simulations.

The new fe-safe Component for Isight operates on Abaqus FEA models and results files, and provides our customers with the opportunity to streamline their fatigue analysis while also incorporating it with the upstream or downstream use of other applications through an automated simulation workflow, said Ian Mercer, software director, Safe Technology. This will help our customers accelerate the optimization of their products for durability and reliability, which provides the opportunity to reduce both development and warranty costs.”
