The registration for ISC‘s Cloud and Big Data conferences is now open. Both events will be held in Heidelberg, Germany in September and October.
The ISC Cloud Conference, titled “Cloud Meets HPC” is chaired by cloud specialist Wolfgang Gentzch, the main sponsor behind the UberCloud HPC (high-performance computing) experiment. Some of the projects’ findings will be shared at the conference, which runs from September 29 to 30.
The keynote is “HPC and Simulation in the Cloud — How Academia and Industry Can Benefit,” presented by Michael Resch, the director of the Stuttgart High Performance Computing Center.
Sessions at ISC Cloud will highlight real-world use cases in science in engineering and highlight benefits, challenges and lessons from cloud computing. Topics to be discussed include technical clouds, application software providers, cloud R&D and a hands-on tutorial.
Following ISC Cloud, the Big Data conference will run from October 1 to 2. The program has been placed together by Sverre Jarp, former CTO at CERN openlab.
The conference will present the latest development in data-centric computing from industry and research. Content is to focus on use cases, big data project, privacy and security concerns, use of visual analytics and the growing Internet of Things (IoT).
The keynotes at ISC Big Data are “The Internet of Things,” by Dirk Slama, director of business development at Bosch Software and “Big Data — Successes & Challenges Beyond the Hype,” by Stefan Wrobel, director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems.
