Prototype and Production Combine with Solid Concepts Acquisition

Rapid prototyping and manufacturing company Solid Concepts Inc. (Valencia,  CA)  has recently acquired Composite Tooling Technologies, Inc. (CTTI) of Troy, Michigan,  in an effort to extend its existing CNC and Cast Urethane products while adding Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) expertise from CTTI to its product line.

For over 12 years, CTTI has been a successful supplier to automotive and other local industries in the Midwest. The company’s area of expertise has been producing large prototype/pre-production urethane and FRP parts utilizing large platform CNC machines and proprietary short run tooling capabilities.

Solid Concepts’  acquisition of CTTI will provide the existing customers of both companies with a broad span of prototype and production functionality all under one roof, so to speak. This will allow customers to go from prototype to production relying on the same production team. Solid Concepts will add the Michigan facility to its real estate, now operating five U.S. production facilities in addition to having sales and project engineering representation throughout the U.S. and Canada.
