Océ Launches TDS750 Large-Format Printer

Océ (Trumbull, CT) has announced the launch of the Océ  TDS750, a large-format black & white print/copy/scan system with color scanning that is said to be suitable for departmental print settings as well as centralized print room environments. The Océ TDS750, which replaces the Océ  TDS700 wide-format system in the company’s product line-up, is a low noise, low energy-consuming, low heat, and low ozone-emitting system that leverages Océ  Radiant Fusing Technology, an environmentally friendly print technology, for “instant-on” printing.

With the Océ TDS750, users reportedly can scan and copy as-builts, color markup, and similar technical documents in one step for immediate archiving and distribution. The Océ TDS750 offers print speeds capable of producing nine D-size prints per minute “even when printing mixed sizes,” according to the company. Printing resolution is 600 x 1200 dpi, and print media include plain and colored paper, transparencies, film, and vellum. Output sizes range from 8.5 to 36 in. wide and from 11 in. to 490 ft. long.

When scanning, the Océ TDS750 uses a single CCD camera and single mirror, which is said to provide consistent monochrome and color image quality “even with transparencies or folded drawings.” Notable optical resolution specifications include 575 dpi (600 dpi maximum) at speeds ranging from 2 to 3 in. per second (black and white) and 0.7 to 2.8 in. per second (color).

The Océ TDS750 can be configured for concurrent print, copy,  scan, and file processing. Jobs, system status, settings, network configurations, and updates can be managed and monitored at the system itself or securely from a remote location. Additionally, template functionality enables recurring copy, scan, print tasks to be performed with a single button touch.

The Océ TDS750’s top-filled print toner is contained inside a closed system, and waste toner is captured and removed to minimize messes. Toner can be loaded during printing without interrupting a job. Miscellaneous characteristics of the field-upgradeable Océ TDS750 include a top-mounted delivery tray that can accommodate up to 100 originals; collated output is received without expanding the operational footprint; restricted controller access and system safeguards; the ability to accommodate as many as six media rolls (up to 3,900 ft. of media capacity); and automatic cutters in each drawer.
