Users of test and measurement tools have a new destinationon the Web to exchange information, ideas and opinions, accessresources on products and safety issues, and get expert support on awide range of tools and applications. Sponsored by Fluke Corporation(Everett, WA), Test Tool Talk is designed as a peer-to-peer, one-stopinformation resource for test tool users. It includes tips, bestpractices, information on new technologies and products.

The Test and Measurement Tool Users Community site offers forums on safety, applications including power quality andharmonics, maintenance and troubleshooting, motors and drives,HVAC/indoor air quality, power distribution systems, and predictivemaintenance. There are also product forums for digital multimeters,clamp meters and testers, thermography, process instrument calibration,insulation resistance testing, portable oscilloscopes, and infrared andcontact thermometers. Site visitors can view these forums, find linksto Fluke resources such as application notes, white papers, and FAQs,or use the site’s searchable knowledge base. Registration is requiredto post comments or questions or respond to existing posts in any ofthe forums.

“With more applications, new technologies, and ever-present safetyissues, it’s critical that the test and measurement tool user communityhave convenient access to resources that can help them build knowledgeand proficiency,” said Steve Clark, application engineering manager atFluke. “We wanted to provide a sort of ‘neutral territory’ where testtool users could go to get answers to a specific question on how to usea tool, increase their application knowledge, or just exchange ideasand opinions on test tool use with their peers or expert sources.”
