Metris (Leuven,  Belgium) and Sensory Analytics (Greensboro, NC) announced the integration of SpecMetrix coating measurement technologies from Sensory into its iSpace tracking and positioning system.

The iSpace system from Metris, a large-scale metrology solution, is said to transform large fabrication facilities into accurate metrology enabled areas. Integrating SpecMetrix technology into the iSpace handheld measurement probes will make it possible for aerospace and defense industry manufacturers to measure a variety of specialty coatings in real time more quickly and precisely.

SpecMetrix technology, which is designed for thickness measurement of transparent and opaque coatings, is incorporated into the positional measurement probes of the Metris iSpace metrology system. By combining the two technologies, a combined measurement of the position and the coating thickness are recorded in real-time.

According to press materials, the SpecMetrix sensors are integrated into iProbe and iMCA measuring devices that operate within the large iSpace-enabled inspection volume.
