Laird Technologies Inc. has expanded its electrically conductive elastomer (EcE) product line with the release of its new EcE72 silicone gasket. Using both conductive and non-conductive materials, the EcE72 gasket is a nickel/graphite filled silicone elastomer that offers EMI shielding properties and conductivity. Consisting of pure silicone, the gasket provides an environmental seal at temperature extremes. It is flame retardant (developed to meet UL94 V-0 standards), and mold and mildew resistant.
“The EcE72 silicone gasket is a very cost-effect EMI shielding product. It is designed to meet UL 94 V-0 flammability requirements, and is mold and mildew resistant; making it ideal for outdoor environments,” said John Slagle, Laird Technologies product line manager for North America and Europe - ECE, FIP, and Absorbers. “It may be die-cut, molded, or extruded in various shapes, sizes, and profiles, allowing it to fit a number of applications for industrial equipment, telecom enclosures, and demanding military applications.”
EcE72 has been designed for applications that require EMI shielding above 100dB along with an environmental seal, and can be used with a compression set below 20%.
