KERN Precision Inc. will present its ultra- and nano-precision machine tool technology at the International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago this September. At its booth, KERN is exhibiting the Ultra Precision CNC (computer numerically controlled) Machining Center, which is ideal for three to five axis machining of medium to large production lot sizes.
The KERN EVO machining center, according to the company, provides productivity through fast acceleration, feed rates and spindle speeds up to 50,000 RPM. The center has a concrete mono-block frame that absorbs forces and vibrations and has a construction and positioning accuracy ± 0.5 µ.
Accessories and options for the EVO include a two-axis high precision rotary table, a laser tool measuring system, touch probe and an automatic tool changer with 32-, 63- or 95-positions. Spindles with speeds up to 160,000 RPM can also be purchased.
