Futuris Automotive, a provider of auto seating and interior trim, and Dallan, a provider of roll-forming machines and lines for premium finished metal products, have deployed Siemens PLM Software.

Futuris, whose customers include automotive manufacturers like GM,  Ford, Tesla, Chery and JAC, expects its deployment of Siemens PLM Seat Design Environment (SDE) portfolio to save  as much as two weeks in the development of flat patterns, improving the company’s ability to prepare bids and deliver new products.

“Time is of the essence in the automotive business, whether you’re talking about preparing bids or delivering new products,” said Brian Thiele, executive manager, engineering and development, at Futuris. “Based on our evaluation, we believe that SDE will enable us to save a significant amount of time, perhaps as much as two weeks in the development of initial flat patterns. The addition of this technology will complement our existing processes and add to our competitive advantage.”

SDE was originally developed by Vistagy, which was acquired by Siemens in 2011. The company now comprises the Specialized Engineering Software business segment within Siemens PLM Software.

Dallan selected Siemens PLM Teamcenter and NX software suites to streamline its global design and development processes through a more integrated computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering process.
