BETA CAE Systems introduces version 22.0.0 of its comprehensive software suite for engineering simulation. The company—one of the oldest in the simulation software business—says this update improves all elements of simulation workflow and management.

The ANSA module for model pre-processing has a revamped graphical user interface (GUI), which the company says enhances the user experience through a series of features focusing on highlighting, real-time information display, and a redesign of tool and option buttons. For example, real-time information is now provided by hovering over entities.

Mesh generation has been improved with new toolsets as well as a GUI update. There are now a series of mesh toolsets, dedicated to each mesh type.

There is new functionality in ANSA Changeset Management. The complete changeset history between objects can be selected for viewing. Using multi-variant subsystem traceability, the relationship between 150% and 100% subsystem variants can be tracked. This allows for faster creation of DM Reports, taking advantage of the new Results Logbook.

The EPILYSIS module for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) includes dual casting manufacturing constraints for topology optimization. The middle plain is automatically adjustable, and new constraint screening speeds up overall processing time. A new MNF Builder tool offers an intuitive wizard to create modal-reduced representations for structures.

The META post-processing module includes updates for Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) processing, specifically in frequency and transient response analysis. There are new tools for working with Pam-Crash and Optistruct data. Results on zero-thickness walls now offer enhanced visualization. The generation of Flow Path Streamlines can now be based on particle flow as it stems from SPH particles. Turbomachinery surfaces can be directly created from an IsoFunction via unrolling.

There are improvements related to use of machine learning training and prediction throughout all modules. New DOE studies can now be created in batch mode from existing simulation runs. Existing parametric DOE studies can be imported to create a dataset for machine learning.

With this version, BETA CAE Systems discontinues support for Mac OS and for all 32-bit operating systems.

Existing BETA CAE Systems customers may download the new software from the product server. New licenses are available directly from BETA CAE.
