dSPACE Releases SystemDesk 4.3

Users can create and test virtual electronic control units on the platform.

dSPACE has released version 4.3 of its AUTOSAR tool SystemDesk. The software now allows engineers to generate virtual electronic control units (V-ECUs). These make testing ECU functions without a hardware prototype easier with the dSPACE virtual validation tool chain.

SystemDesk automatically configures and generates additional components, such as the AUTOSAR Runtime Environment and the basic ECU software parts required for simulation. The software can be configured specifically for a project. This functionality, according to the company, allows users to develop their own V-ECUs without requiring any previous knowledge of the software.

V-ECUs are able to modified quickly and reflect design tests. It also enables early function testing, since developers can create them on their own computers. With dSPACE VEOS, users can conduct comprehensive testing of function behavior.
