Concept Laser has launched the new M2 cusing system, which features numerous innovations and a modern machine design. The company has also revealed its multi-laser technology, which it has equipped several of its new systems with.
The M2 cusing is a self-contained solution that is equipped with a new filter design and an increased filter surface area. The new filter module has been designed with fixed tubing and fully integrated into the system. It is also now available in a multi-laser version, with the option for two 200 or 400 watt lasers.
In addition to updating several of its production systems, Concept Laser has updated its QMmeltpool 3D software. The newer version makes it possible to generate data sets that directly correlate to a component and/or its structure. This enables users to analyze local effects that occur during construction, providing quality assurance and optimization.
The company has also added its multi-laser technology to the X line 1000R. It is also planning on releasing the X line 2000R, which will feature two 1000 watt lasers. This is to drive faster construction speeds required by users in aerospace and automotive industries.
At EuroMold, Concept Laser also introduced two new materials. Inconel 625 is intended for turbine construction where components are exposed to temperatures up to 1832°F. Stainless steel 17-4 PH is constructed for high resistance to abrasion, wear and corrosion.
“Our product range is now enhanced with multi-laser technology and it directly affects the exposure time. Our experience has shown that build rates can be increased by up to 80%. That’s a very pleasing result,” says Dr. Florian Bechmann, head of development at Concept Laser.
