CD-adapco Selects Siemens D-Cubed Software

Will replace existing geometric constraint solver.

Will replace existing geometric constraint solver.

CD-adapco has licensed Siemens’ D-Cubed software to be used in its STAR-CCM+ products. CD-adapco selected D-Cubed 2D DCM (Dimensional Constraint Manager) to provide the geometric constraint solving capability for its software applications. CD-adapco will deploy 2D DCM to replace its current commercial geometric constraint solver. D-Cubed components are developed by Siemens’ product lifecycle management (PLM) software business unit.

“CD-adapco is focused on providing our customers with a powerful integrated modeling capability,” said Jean-Claude Ercolanelli, senior vice president of product management at CD-adapco. “When we decided to enhance our parametric sketcher, we turned to Siemens, the industry’s most open and trusted supplier, to provide a new geometric constraint solving engine to support this important objective. We found that D-Cubed 2D DCM offers improved functionality, performance and quality. Leading component software technology combined with Siemens’ stability and service excellence made this the right decision for CD-adapco and our customers.”

“The fact that a leading CFD software provider like CD-adapco is extending their commitment to Siemens and replacing their existing constraint solver with our D-Cubed 2D DCM is a strong endorsement of Siemens’ technical leadership,” said Paul Sicking, senior vice president and CTO, Siemens PLM Software. “Siemens is committed to providing open software components that allow software providers to enhance their solutions for design, engineering and manufacturing.”
