BOXX Technologies is releasing 3DBOXX workstation computers featuring NVIDIA Maximus technology. Maximus enables engineers, designers, and other creative professionals to complete simulation or rendering plus visualization simultaneously on the same workstation. BOXX is one of a small group of workstation manufacturers certified by NVIDIA to integrate the technology into their products, and is the first non-Tier 1 OEM to publicly announce Maximus-based products.
The new workstations combine the visualization and interactive design capability of NVIDIA Quadro GPUs with the high-performance computing power of NVIDIA Tesla C2075 GPUs into a single system. The Tesla companion processors automatically perform photorealistic rendering or engineering simulation computation. This frees CPU resources to accomplish I/O, run the operating system, and other tasks, while the Quadro GPU is dedicated to powering full-performance, interactive design. NVIDIA Maximus technology also helps users reduce the need for prototypes by moving their workflow to simulation driven design.
Maximus technology is featured in a range of BOXX systems, including the Intel Core i7-based 3DBOXX 4920 series workstations (both standard and overclocked XTREME editions), the 3DBOXX 3960 XTREME (also an Intel Core i7 model), and the dual Intel Xeon processor 3DBOXX 8920.
