Boeing Company and Northrop Grumman Corporation will hold their third joint Global Product Data Interoperability Summit (GPDIS) at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos in Chandler, AZ, Nov. 7-10, 2011. This year’s GPDIS theme, “Enabling a Globally Integrated Supply Chain,” will concentrate on the data interoperability challenges presented by implementing model-based processes in an increasingly interconnected world.

“A growing imperative challenging the aerospace and shipbuilding industries is interoperability between global partners. To meet this demand, standardized model-based design product data is the “holy grail” for creating seamless integration between applications,” says Terrence McGowan, GPDIS chairman, The Boeing Company. “The GPDIS is a catalyst for discussion about these challenges in a collaborative, neutral environment where experts share ideas and solutions.”

“Cooperation and knowledge-sharing across organizations helps everyone achieve product quality more cost-effectively,” says Doug Norton, vice president and CIO, Electronic Systems sector, Northrop Grumman Corporation. “We can all benefit from the newest supply chain integration methodologies being discussed at this year’s GPDIS.”

The GPDIS is held at no cost to industry professionals in aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, and academia as well as supply chain partners. The summit will also include a technical exposition to showcase the latest tools offered by solutions providers.
