ALGOR V19.1 Supports 64-Bit HP-UX for All Analysis Types

ALGOR(Pittsburgh, PA) has announced that its latest finite element analysis(FEA) software release, ALGOR V19.1, features support for the 64-bitHP-UX operating system for all analysis types. Now, UNIX workstationusers can simulate engineering analyses of their product designs withALGOR’s range of simulation capabilities including static stress andMechanical Event Simulation (MES) with linear and nonlinear materialmodels, linear dynamics, steady-state and transient heat transfer,steady and unsteady fluid flow, electrostatics, and full multiphysics.
Version 19.1 also features a new gasket material model and element foraccurately simulating mechanical seals; improved automatic reportgeneration including the ability to publish to the PDF file format; thecapability to calculate equilibrium temperature from heat transferanalysis results; and the ability to display fluid flow results asstreaklines for improved visualization of flow throughout a fluiddomain.
“Previous releases have supported 32- and 64-bit Windows and 32- and64-bit Linux operating systems,” said ALGOR Product Manager BobWilliams. “Now, V19.1 expands our multi-platform support, allowingusers to apply the power and speed of the 64-bit HP-UX operating systemto all ALGOR analysis types.”
According to a press release making the announcement, features inALGOR V19.1 include direct CAD support with full associativity inRhinoceros; FEMPRO capabilities inclusing the ability to run a NASTRANanalysis on a remote computer; and fluid flow analysis with automaticadaptive parameter control for segregate scheme used in steady,unsteady, and coupled fluid/thermal analyses. It also has the abilityto display stresses calculated from average stress tensors, heattransfer results during an analysis, and electrostatic reaction forces.
