3D Systems Releases New Scanning and Software Solutions

3D Systems (3DS) has released two new products designed for the prototyping and manufacturing workflow. The company has added the Capture Mini scan-based design and inspection system as well as the 3DSPRINT application.

3DSPRINT is a desktop and cloud-based platform that enables users to share, view and print 3D data from anytime or any source. Engineers can store, access and share data with anyone they choose and access the full range of on-demand cloud printing capabilities from 3DS. The platform also offers printability analysis and instant cost calculation.

In addition to showcasing 3DSPRINT, 3DS is introducing the Capture Mini. The device is equipped with a blue LED structured laser and weighs 2 lbs. It has a scanning accuracy as little as .034 mm and a field of view at 88 x 87 mm. It is compatible with the Geomagic Capture program and its multi-scanner setup.
