CT CoreTechnologies(Maumee, OH) has added a new tool to its 3D_Evolution ConversionEngine. Feature recognition is now available for Autodesk Inventor,Catia V5, Pro-E, Solidworks, and Unigraphics models. According to apress release, 3D_Evolution can migrate 3D data between native CADinterfaces without the need for the user to maintain a native API.
3D_Evolution and its Advanced Repair Technologies enable the user toconsistently provide loss-free conversion of 3D models with advancedquality control and compact file size of the models, says the release. In addition, 3D_Evolution gives the user the flexibility to createsolid models from surface models without worrying about mini elements, gaps, or overlapping elements.
CoreTechnologies says the new 3D_Evolution tool allows both OEMs andtheir suppliers to exchange data seamlessly while maintaining totalcontrol over that data. The software also allows the users the abilityto turn modifiable features on or off, creating partial BREP solids toprevent modifications to critical or proprietary 3D data. One of theprogram’s enhancements is its ability to transform IGES and STEP formatfiles into 3D models with recognizable features for both components andassemblies. With this function the need to rebuild an IGES or STEP fileto create a solid model is eliminated.
According to CT Core Technologies, the 3D_Evolution program wasdeveloped to eliminate the need to invest in multiple CAD systems tomeet the growing demands of the manufacturing marketplace. 3D_Evolutioninterfaces directly with Catia V4 and V5, Unigraphics, SDRC I-deas,Pro-E, Solid Works, Inventor, and 14 other common and native formats. It is used primarily in the aerospace, automotive, medical, andindustrial markets.
