ZW3D, SimLab Composer Enter Partnership

The companies are creating a rendering integration for ZW3D.

ZW3D, a supplier of CAD/CAM solutions for manufacturing, has teamed up with SimLab Composer. The company offers 3D scene building and sharing programs, helping the ZW3D user community create visualizations and run simulation analysis.

ZW3D has created a plug-in with SimLab Composer to directly connect users with software capabilities. By adding this functionality, users will have active links between the programs to keep data in sync. The main features of this integration are:

  • Quick collision detection with complex Rigid-Body simulations

With the Simulation Workbench in SimLab Composer, ZW3D users can fast and accurately model, control and analyze simulations of dynamic mechanical systems using state-of-the-art engineering solvers. In this way, the R&D costs will be greatly reduced and the leads time will be largely shortened.

  • Easy share of designs with technical and non-technical users Designers and engineers can generate 3D PDF files and WebGL-based HTML files according to their 3D models, and export them to Android/iPad. Thus, designs can be shared to everyone, bringing smooth cooperation, both internally and externally.
  • Better demonstration of design ideas with photo-realistic texture baking

Rendering algorithms are used in SimLab Composer to simulate shading, shadows and bumps on the surface (or texture) of a 3D object, delivering users realistic-looking designs to materialize their ideas for better presentation to bosses, clients & prospect

“We are very excited about this partnership. It gives our users a powerful toolset to create amazing visualizations and perform mechanism simulations efficiently,” said Colin Lin, Director of ZW3D Overseas Business.
