Virtium, a supplier of infrastructure SSD (solid state drives) and industrial memory modules, will be participating in the Flash Memory Summit, held this year on August 5 to 7 in Santa Clara, CA.
The session, titled “Solid State Solutions for Internet of Things (IoT) Applications”, will illustrate the depth of value-add solid-state storage features utilized by embedded/industrial systems OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). It will also include how advanced power-fail protection designs how advanced power-fail protection designs can mitigate storage corruption as a result of unexpected power loss. Attendees can also hear about application-specific features addressing endurance, security and environmental issues for forecasting useable storage life.
“Systems designers and OEMs face a broad range of potential challenges in the burgeoning IoT frontier. The areas of practical concern involve the issue of inconsistent delivery of power as well as application-specific issues related to how the storage media will be used, all of which has a direct impact on storage product design,” said Scott Phillips, director of marketing at Virtium. “This session will directly help designers by highlighting the available value-added solid-state storage technologies and what advanced features to consider in order to overcome these issues.”
