Tech Soft 3D Releases HOOPS Exchange 7.0 and HOOPS Publish 7.0

New server licensing option enables re-use of CAD data and 3D PDF publishing in cloud-based applications and services.

Tech Soft 3D announced the release of HOOPS Exchange 7.0 and HOOPS Publish 70. According to the company, the new releases enable engineering software developers to accurately translate CAD data quickly (HOOPS Exchange) or export 3D PDFs (HOOPS Publish), in either desktop or cloud environments.

The Exchange update includes new APIs that build on the ability to query the length, surface and volume of geometries. These APIs can also perform an exact section of a model and a geometry compare between two revisions of the same model. In many application types, this ability to deeply interrogate geometry removes the need for an extra translation step into a modeling kernel, the company says.

Users can access data from the most recent releases of the leading CAD systems, including the latest versions of SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Parasolid and the AP242 edition of STEP.

Publish 7.0 features enhancements specific to MBE workflows, including support for semantic (machine readable/searchable) PMI, as well as the ability to create a series of specific model views.

“We’re proud to provide much of the underlying technology making the MBE movement possible and are thrilled to be helping so many desktop and cloud developers create solutions that can intelligently handle any type of CAD data and share that data with others,” said Gavin Bridgeman, vice president of products at Tech Soft 3D.
